Sandy Strait Pyjama Day for Children

By Sandy Strait State School Community

Sandy Strait has a number of children in foster-care home situations. Nationally, Children in care have the lowest education outcomes with 92% of children in care below the average reading level by the time they are 7 years old. Nationally, 75% of children in care will not complete high school and 35% of children in care end up in the juvenile system. National Pyjama Day is an annual event that aims to raise awareness and funds for The Pyjama Foundation's Love of Learning Program, which empowers children in care to reach their full potential. At Sandy Strait we are participating to raise funds as well as awareness in our school community.
