The Pyjama Foundations Love of Learning program supports children in foster care via volunteer 'Pyjama Angels', with literacy and numeracy programs, and other educational and fun activities.
As an aspiring volunteer I am looking forward to being a part of the Love of Learning program and helping a child in care not only with literacy, numeracy and other learning outcomes, but with helping them find their wings, increase their self confidence and life skills through positive, engaging and supportive interaction.
On Saturday the 19th March 2016 I will be participating in the Pyjama Foundation's annual Long Road pyjama walk. The aim of the walk is to raise much needed funds for some of the more vulnerable children in Australia. I will be fundraising for this event over the coming weeks and have set a target of $500. Your donation will enable the Foundation to continue providing the resources required for the Love of Learning program (books, educational games etc), and also help fund the recruitment and training of more Pyjama Angels.
If you would like to walk with me for a great cause please let me know, you are most welcome. Dress of the day will be a pair of PJ's, or a 'Onesie', and your walking shoes! Alternatively, any donation will be greatly appreciated.
