So, Ive decided to have a go at running the Melbourne Marathon. 'Why' you might ask? A very good question, one that I'm really not sure I've worked out the answer to!
People say that 'running' a marathon is very challenging, difficult, increases self doubt and anguish. All of which, a large number of children in foster care have to deal with everyday. 'Completing' a marathon, however, is meant to be empowering, sense of achievement, increase self belief. These are things that the Pyjama Foundation helps children in care with on a daily basis.
So I guess that's maybe why... To try and help the Foundation help more children in care, giving them the opportunities to reach their full potential and it would be awesome if you can help me provide them vital resources to support the effort.
